Bollywood Live Music event on 5th October 2024: Cardiff
The Euphonics Band was hosted by the Indian Heritage Centre UK in Cardiff at Stanwell School. The event was well attended by the enthusiastic music lovers from Cardiff, Swansea, Bridgend, Newport and Bristol and received very positive and encouraging feedback.
The event was navigated very well by our cheerful anchors Dr Sunil Pulapaka and Mrs Anushree Patnaik.
Occassion was graced by the dignitaries Mr Raj Agarwal-Honorary Consul of Wales India, Mrs Sue Thomas DL(Lord Lieutenant’s Deputy), Reverend Father David Kellan (Chaplain), Cllr Jasmine Choudhury, Cllr Kanaya Singh, Cllr Ramesh Patel, Prof Kumar from India Wales Club, Mrs Gurmit Singh Randhawa from Sikh Council of Wales, Dr Kishore Kale, Dr Rajesh Tiwary & Mr Santhosh Sinha from Bhaktidham Wales, Mr Nagaraj Rao from Kannada Enthusiasts Wales, Dr Satish BK & Mr Manoj Kesariya from Cardiff University and event was opened with the Hindu Traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony.
Mrs Tripti Megeri gave the welcome speech including the updates on the last 12 months events conducted by the IHC Cardiff focussing on Intellectual, Medical & Social events with the aim to engage the Indian Diaspora from all walks of life in Cardiff with aim to promote Community Cohesion fore more reflective integrity in to the Welsh Society and assert the Indian Identity than being referred to as “South Asian”.
The events conducted are prior to this event are:
1) Stroke Awareness session( December 2023), 2) Sankranti Utsav, Entertainment event(January 2024), 3) Diabetes Awareness & Management (February 2024), 4) The International Women’s Day Celebration (March 2024), 5) Autism Awareness Session (May 2024), 6) International Yoga Day(June 2024) and 7) Indian Independence Day (August 2024).
Dr Girish G, opened the event with the prayer song and also contributed to the entertaining the audience singing a song. We also had the opportunity to watch energetic dance performance by Miss Adyasha who is also a Professional Choreographer.
Audience took active part in taking to the stage with the dance moves to the melodious Bollywood Tunes which gave more colour to the event. We thank Euphonics Band lead by Sundeep Kumar, Anu Chandra, Pramod and Archana who gave us the fabulous entertainment and received very good feedback.
Mr Raj Agarwal, Honorary Consul of Wales India and Mr Kanaya Singh, Councillor addressed the audience with their kind words and appreciation to the Committee Members for their efforts in bringing the community together and also creating a platform to promote Arts & Culture.
Dr Girish Kothegal gave the Vote of Thanks with the emphasis on thanking the audience for their continued support and encouragement. Dr Girish Kothegal also brought back the focus on the Objectives of the Indian Heritage Centre UK which is a Non-Profit Organisation, a registered Limited Company by Guarantee in UK that we are currently supported by the individuals with their generous contribution. It was also mentioned that we do welcome donations which is spent towards organising the free events with the focus on promoting Health, Yoga & Community Cohesion. Any proceeds from the ticketed events goes towards managing the free events.
