IHC UK started its activities in October 2023. Since then we have been moving in a positive direction. We meet up once a month on every first Saturday of the month.
The first one hour is dedicated to yoga. Every month we choose a theme. Health and well-being of the community and awareness about the key topics are our main goals. In December 2023 we orgnised a Stroke Awareness session. In May 2024, an Autism awareness session was orgnised.
In January 2024, the Indian Heritage Centre UK celebrated the popular winter harvest festival ‘Sankranti Utsav’ on 20th January 2024 at the Stanwell School, Penarth, Cardiff. Many eminent personalities including the First Minister of Wales, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff, and other dignitaries graced the event, which were also attended many hundreds of people. The Sankranti Utsav has been marked as a ‘festival of
unity and heritage.
We celebrated International Women’s Day on 02/03/2024 Saturday at Cardiff. It was well attended by the women of Indian Origin. Mrs Tripti Megeri, Founder & CEO of Indian Heritage Centre opened the event with a welcome speech and introduced Mrs Tejashree Joshi to compere the event.
The keynote speakers were Dr Smitha Mundasad, BBC Reporter & Presenter, Ms Riya Burrage-Male, International Athlete & Founder Director of KIBO Organisation and Dr Kavitha Pasunuru, Consultant in Child Psychiatry & Assistant Divisional Director in Community Services in Children & Families in Aneurin Bevan NHS Health Board, Newport.
Our next key event International Yoga Day is on the 22nd of June 2024 at 11 pm in Cardiff.
